JUVENILE DIABETES

The immediate need to address this new community epidemic is motivated by the recent death of Justice Cohen. Justice died in his room at Penn State in April 2022. The cause of death was complications of juvenile diabetes. For this college sophomore to escape the realities of the streets of North Philadelphia, secure his dream of attending his favorite college, and succumb to this disease was heart-wrenching to not only his family but an entire community. North Philly Project intends to use its relationships, platforms, and resources to help our community become more informed and proactive in addressing a disease that has the potential to kill our children.
